Village Class Learning                                                                     (Ages newborn - 1½)

Village class is a very special weekly music and movement program that provides an experience of learning and bonding for you and your baby.

Class Focus: Nurture the bond between parent and child

Activities include reading literature books which aid the baby's visual tracking and language development

For the parent: For the first few months of baby's life, his right ear is more sensitive than his left, so whisper or talk softly into the right ear. That ear quickly sends messages to the left brain and that is the analytical and reasoning side.

Our Time Class Learning                                                                   (Ages 1½ - 3 years)

Our Time class includes a nice balance of dancing, singing, listening, and instruments all wrapped up in a package of fun for you and your child!

Class Focus: Building the child's self-esteem

Activities center on emotional development

For the parent: Toddlers love stop and go games because they allow the child to practice inhibitory control, or the ability to stop oneself and wait. Inhibitory control is important in social interactions where taking turns is involved.

Imagine That Class Learning                                                               (Ages 3 - 5 years)

In Imagine That class, his blanket becomes a superhero's cape... A cardboard box doubles as her magic castle... Sound like someone you know?

Class Focus: Imagination is child's greatest learning tool

Activities involve use of expressive language, peer interaction, pretend play & imagination

For the parent: Making binoculars allows your child to use problem solving skills when answering questions, such as "How will we put cardboard tubes together?" It also satisfies experimentation, such as "What do I want this to look like?" and "Will I like how it looks if I use this paint?" The creative thinking and the ownership of choice used in this activity are mental skills that are needed in many areas of life.

Young Child Class Learning                                                              (Ages 4½ - 7 years)

The capstone of the Kindermusik curricula, Young Child class prepares young musicians for a successful future of formal music training.

Class Focus: Critical vocal development skills are built

Activities: Children learn music performance in small group setting

For the parent: In this class, students put to practice skills learned in previous Kindermusik classes by playing in a music ensemble. Playing music in a group will enable children to assimilate a more complete understanding of musical organization.
